Sichuan Province Officially Introduces Dedicated Metaverse Policy
According to TuoniaoX.com on September 18, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology's official website announced that 16 departments including the Sichuan Department of Economy and Information Technology jointly issued the "Sichuan Province Metaverse Industry Development Action Plan (2023-2025)". This marks the fourth provincial-level dedicated metaverse policy following Shanghai, Henan Province, and Zhejiang Province.

The Action Plan proposes that by 2025, the province's metaverse-related industry scale will reach 250 billion yuan, with 200 typical metaverse application scenarios created in industrial, cultural tourism, education, and urban development sectors. The plan aims to cultivate and attract 15 leading enterprises in core metaverse tracks, 150 "specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative" enterprises in subdivided fields, and 300 innovative small and medium enterprises, ultimately building a globally influential "China Metaverse Valley".
Within Sichuan Province, as early as January 2023, the Chengdu New Economy Development Leading Group Office issued the "Chengdu Metaverse Industry Development Action Plan (2022-2025)", proposing that by 2025, Chengdu's metaverse industry system will take initial shape, with metaverse-related industry scale reaching 150 billion yuan.
